US Grade Kindergarten
In this one time class, your learner will engage with their peers as we review Kindergarten skills to be ready for 1st grade. Over the summer, it is important that we keep minds learning and growing to retain information learned throughout the school year. I love teaching and think learning should be fun and interactive. You will be able to tell with my energy and happy spirit. During class we will get to know each other and talk about our favorite things and engage in conversation. This will allow a friendly atmosphere and give time for students to make new friends. We will go over sight words with flash cards, phonics, interactive story time with fun visuals, opinions, and Math facts. There is a lot to cover, so you can take this class once or sign up for many. Let's make friends, have a good time, and continue to prepare for 1st grade.

Student will learn and improve Kindergarten Common Core standards in Math, Phonics, and Reading.

Hello everyone! I LOVE teaching! In fact, ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to be a teacher. In 2012, I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a degree in elementary education. I have been a kindergarten teacher in the public school system for 9 years. I have also had the opportunity to work for Vipkid where I taught English online to Chinese children (ages 4-12). I am the mother of a 7 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. We love to spend time outside at the park and occasional trips to the beach. English Language Arts is my favorite subject. I love to teach phonics skills that are a key component to reading. As an elementary educator, I can help children learn social fundamental skills to build relationships and be prepared for classroom success.
