In this one-time class, students will learn about the traditional Lunar New Year, how it is celebrated, what certain foods mean, and craft a red envelope.
Class Experience
Learn about the Lunar New Year, who celebrates it, the traditions, the 12 animals of the zodiac, what the food means and more. Students will learn the New Year greetings. At the end of the lecture, students will have the opportunity to make their own red envelope and decorate it. 0A envelope template will be posted before the start of the class. This can be printed out so the student will have it to work on when it is time. I recommend printing this envelope out on red paper or any colorful paper you may have. Gold markers or crayons or glitter pens are optional. Gem stones or stickers can be used as well to decorate the envelope.
