Explore Texas from your computer as we learn about the seven regions of Texas. This fun and educational camp is for children who love learning about new animals. This camp will meet twice a week for two weeks. Camp involves learning about animals, plants, animal-themed games, nature crafts, nature excursions, and more! Lessons are designed to captivate, engage and challenge young people. We'll learn about animals and the environment during class, then students will be encouraged to go outside and experience nature after class. My classes are inclusive. Learners can ask questions, cultivate discussions, and share experiences with each other to learn together. My teaching style is energetic, interactive, engaging, and always supportive. Classes may run up to five minutes over the scheduled time depending on learner discussion and questions. No prior knowledge is necessary! I am a former high school wildlife education teacher, and I look forward to sharing my wildlife knowledge with your camper! Each class we will discuss wildlife, ecology, biomes, and a different region of Texas. We will learn about characteristics and facts of these regions, animals commonly found there, and play a game or do an activity in relation.
Learning Goals
The purpose of the camp is to provide a fun experience for kids to learn about the natural resource management field- nature, ecology, and wildlife.
Students will learn to communicate ideas, share opinions, develop critical thinking and social skills, and discuss wildlife topics.
My goal is to create a meaningful, comfortable, social learning environment where students discuss interesting topics and connect with each other.
