Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Hello and Welcome to Mr. Gullett's (A.K.A Mr. G) Goiong to Extremes!

Have you wondered what it is a like to live in Alaska? How does a person sleep with 22 plus hours of day light? Do you really only have four hours of day on the darkest day? Do you ride poler bears to school? Does everyone live in an igloo? Does water freeze in midair when poured out at negative 50 degrees below zero (-50 degrees)?

The answers to these question will be discussed and many more in Mr. G's Going to Extreme - life at 50 below. Come join my class as we cover fun facts about Alaska, what it is like living in Alaska, crazy characters who made Alaska what it is, and amazing stories from the Great White North. This class covers a wide variety of topics about Alaska from geography, Mount Denali, fun facts, characters, and crazy stories that could only happen in Alaska.

Topics that will be shared beyond the questions that students have (which is strongly encourage during the class):

The Iditarod sled dog race - 1,000 miles from Anchorage to Nome. The purchase of Alaska from Russia. Crazy characters and famous people like: Carlos Boozer, Susan Butcher, Mario Chalmers, Jimmy Doolittle, Jack London, Wyatt Earp, Benny Benson, Mark Schlereth, and many others Soapy Smith.
