Class Experience

Students will participate in a role-playing game that allows them to experience various parts of Greek Mythology as a new god/goddess being trained by Athena. Each character will work with each other and the other Gods of Olympus to prevent the scheming of Loki while balancing all of the duties that comes along with being an immortal.

Class #1:
Students will fully create their god/goddess character on the character sheet and seek counsel from their mentors. Next, they will receive a special item and advice from Athena that will help during the quest. Finally, they will select 1 other Godly ally and enemy.

The locations can be explored in any order depending on the choices of the characters in the adventure.
Class #2 - 5:
The heroes will travel to 5 different locations to work together in achieving multiple missions. They will work to keep each other strong as a God and make sure between the group of them they are able to fulfill the missions assigned by Athena. At times, individuals will be challenged. At other times, the group will be challenged as a whole. As your group of Gods/Goddesses fulfills their missions, they will grow stronger. This will help each character become an important ally in the war started by Loki.

This is a role-playing game with some similarities in format to other role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. I have chosen to do it in a much more simplified format so that the class would still be focused on gaining more knowledge in Greek Mythology.
Learning Goals
The goal of our lesson is to experience some of the adventures that happen in Greek Mythology. If the student has knowledge of Greek Mythology, their gods/goddesses will make wise decisions in the different encounters. If the student has not read Greek Mythology, they will encounter new monsters, immortal beings, and places. Every student will receive all the information they need to make the best decision for their characters.
