50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This is a hands on cooking class, so get ready to get baking! First, students will learn proper kitchen vocabulary and measuring techniques. Second, we will apply these newly learned skills and we will make garlic cheese buns together. Students should be prepared to get a bit messy as we will be baking. Finally, while the buns are baking (and if we have time), we will discuss various substitutions and basic kitchen safety topics. The class is structured to be very step-by-step, extremely interactive and geared for hands on learners. No experience necessary however students may need help with using a knife and operating an oven safely. Your chef will need access to the ingredients, equipment (measuring spoons, measuring cups, mixing bowls, rolling pin, knife), a muffin pan with paper or reusable muffin cups for easy cleanup, and an oven. At the end of class, they will be able to serve your entire family fresh out of the oven garlic, cheese buns. Bon Appetit! *Please note, I live in Canada so we measure in cups and mL's. If you live in Europe or other places that measure by weight, please let me know ahead of time so I can have the weight measurements ready.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their measuring skills, will learn terminology used in baking and will enhance their baking techniques.
