Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi my name is Salena Epps Jackson! I teach thematic storytime classes. Are you ready to go on an amazing adventure through the pages of a book? I sure hope so, Please join me by signing up for thematic storytime. We will use our imagination and creation to make storytime fun! The story wouldn't be complete without a fun arts & craft activity, math, steam or music movement.
I have been teaching for 27 years and earned a B.S. Degree In Early Childhood Education from Brenau University in Atlanta, GA. I've taught in public and private schools ages 3-13. I've operated my own home daycare for ages 3 & 4 too. I curently assist with an Afterschool program in a public school. I wrote and created an activity program guide to implement activities for ages 5-13. I get so much joy in being with the little students. I love to see students learn while having fun doing creative, and engaging activities. My storytime sessions will be an extenstion to our read aloud thematic stories.
My teaching philosphy is learning must be FUN & MEMORABLE! All students have the ability to learn. As a teacher, I need to find the best learning style for your child to engage in.
This is a fun fact about me, Believe it or NOT!... I have a fraternal twin sister her name is Sabrena. My parents didn't know I was coming and gave me a rhyming name similiar to my twin sister.
On a more personal level, During my twin sister's pregnacy, I experienced all of her birthpains and pregnacy cravings and I decided to share her child as my own!
