Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Please note:

1... Please see "Supply List" in "Other Details" for the current list of ingredients, equipment and utensils needed for the next three weeks of classes. This list will also be posted in the classroom and in your student's messages along with more detailed instructions about ingredient types upon enrollment. And every three weeks thereafter.
2... Be on time. If you're going to be late, please have someone help to get you caught up. It's rude to make your classmates wait for you.
3... Have ingredients, equipment, and utensils ready to go. We measure everything in class. If your child wants to pre-measure, that is absolutely okay.
4... Raise your hand if someone else is talking. Patiently wait your turn.
5... Be respectful of others at all times.
6... All recipes in this class include ingredients that can always be substituted for other ingredients to suit your family's needs. Such as dairy free and nut allergies.

Let me take the guess work out of baking delicious sweet treats and desserts that are gluten free that the whole family will love! In this ongoing class, students will learn how to cook and bake a variety of different desserts, everything from cakes and cookies, to a variety of candies and chocolates. ALL GLUTEN FREE!

Students will also learn about kitchen safety and the right way to handle kitchen utensils and equipment. Students will interact with other students and myself throughout class. This is an excellent opportunity for students to have fun while making something sweet to eat, sharing their thoughts and ideas, and getting in a little math too! Students will be learning and practicing math, social, and creative thinking skills.

Most ingredients are common household staples, such as almond flour, sugar, brown sugar, butter, etc. Any specialty items will be noted well in advance such as different colored candy melts, molds, candy sticks, etc. A list of ingredients, equipment, and utensils will be given out well in advance, prior to the start of each class. Students are required to come to class on time, with ingredients, equipment, and utensils ready to go. Students should also have on either an apron or an old t-shirt because things can get messy.

I have baked for many celebrations such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, you name it, I've been hired for it! I will teach your child how to be creative, imaginative, and how to substitute ingredients where and when needed. There isn't a treat too small or a dessert too big that my students can't handle. Watch your child grow in the kitchen not only as a baker, but as a responsible baker. There is a difference.

Please see "supply list" for a current list of ingredients, equipment, and utensils. Please pay close attention to the dates.

Parents are encouraged to supervise their child when certain utensils or equipment are being used, such as knives, blenders, the stove top and oven. Classes will run between 30-50 minutes depending on dessert being made. Average class length is 30-45 minutes. Classes will be broken down as follows:
