In our class we will learn how to cook foods without gluten. This will be baking as well as cooking. Gluten is found in wheat, barley, rye and other grains. These grains are in many things that you wouldn't think would have gluten. We will talk about gluten free foods and what to watch out for. Premixed seasonings is one. For the flour I use Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 baking flour. I use this flour because it is the closest to regular flour that I have found. The recipes change each class. The recipe that we will be using for each class will be sent out the week before so supplies can be found and purchased. We will be making in own first class a gluten free flour blend for baking. I will send this along with our first recipe. Recipe samples- Bread rolls Italian meatballs Banana Bread muffins Drop Sugar cookies Make tacos with taco seasoning Pizza If there is any specific recipe you would like message me and we can see if we can work it into the class.

Supply List
I will supply recipes and informational hand outs for the class. The students will need to supply the ingredients and cooking and baking equipment for the recipes.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello my name is Brenda and I have taught preschool for 8 years and home school my three children and 2 that have graduated high school. I teach baking classes to home school students as well.
I owned my own Mexican Restaurant and I sold it September of 2020. That kept me very busy.
I owned and worked in my own horticulture business installing and maintaining landscape beds for 20+ years.
My hobbies are gardening, sewing and baking.
