🧑‍🍳 Fall Inspired Recipes
🧑‍🍳 Each week you can expect an Amazing and Delicious Gluten Free Baked Item to enjoy after our class time!  
🧑‍🍳 I prefer using natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey, dates, and coconut sugar.  You may find the recipes less "sweet" than traditional baked goods, but they are significantly healthier and will satisfy your sweet craving just the same!  
🧑‍🍳 I've been baking with natural sweeteners for years and my family now prefers them to "sugar" sweetened treats!  
🧑‍🍳 If you need vegan or dairy free options, those will be available as well! 
🧑‍🍳 Feel free to let me know if you have other dietary restrictions, and I'll do my best to accommodate!

🍪 Let's Bake!  We will make our bakes together as a class, and students are more than welcome to ask any questions they have along the way.  

Depending on the recipe for the week, it may require some ingredients to come prepared (such as apples peeled or chopped in advance), and baking time may be required after class depending on the recipe. Recipe will be available at the beginning of the week so you can make sure to have all the ingredients and supplies ready in advance!

A B O U T   T H E   T E A C H E R :

👉 Licensed Elementary Education Teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience with students 3-18 years old!  
👉 I began baking when I was 3 years old, so I love helping students learn and grow in their cooking and baking journey! 
👉 As a child, I competed in several junior baking competitions.
👉 I have lived a gluten free, dairy free lifestyle for over 17 years!
👉 As a teacher, I am calm, patient, and encouraging.

Learning Goals

Students will gain skills and confidence in the kitchen such as measuring, prepping ingredients, and reading a recipe.
Students will practice their skills with hands-on application while baking in an encouraging and supervised environment.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Since many of our recipes will require the use of the knives, oven/stove, or microwave, parents should be nearby to supervise once we get to the step of baking our delicious treats.
Pre-Requisites
Students should be able to read basic recipes and follow instructions.
Supply List
Each week you will find the recipe posted in the classroom in advance.  You will need to be sure to have all the ingredients needed in advance so that the recipes can be made during class time.  Measuring cups, bowls, baking sheets or pans and basic cooking supplies will be required each week.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I've been baking since I was 3 years old!  I have competed in multiple cooking competitions as a child, and young adult and have a passion for health and living the gluten free lifestyle (I've been gluten-free for more than 17 years).  I am excited to pass on my passion for cooking and baking with your learner!
