Glow up With Me: SFX Special Effects Makeup
Class Experience
During this class we will develop skills to be able to recreate a special effects makeup look suitable for theatre productions, Halloween, or to impress friends with your new skills. Over the four weeks we will learn how to create our own scar wax, layer colors, and textures to create basic cuts, bruising, scars, burns and peeling skin. Training accomplished as a Makeup Artist. Professional development and self training has taken place regularly to support learning. Students are required to have a form of the following for the looks to be successful. Please note; a combination or different variation of the products listed will also work. The class does not require you to buy expensive SFX makeup or prosthetic material. Eye Shadow in various colours- Deep browns, reds, blue, black/grey/brown/ yellow/ green/ purple. Toilet/ Tissue paper Clear or white school glue/ PVA glue. Fake blood- or google how to create your own as you can use this. All purpose or plain flour Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly Cup to mix Spoon or makeup spatula Brushes for eyeshadow cotton sticks - Q-tips Please message me if you have any questions or concerns about the supply list.
Please be aware that students will be using liquid school glue to create their looks. A patch test on a small area of skin should be carried out before the class, the area should be well ventilated when the glue is in use. Please note that some of the fake blood and colors can stain fabrics. Please ensure the area is well protected. Some of the looks can be gory, please ensure your learner is comfortable with theatre gore and happy to recreate these cuts, bruises and burns.
