What's included

3 live meetings
4 in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. Students will be asked to spend 0-1 hour independently recreating the makeup look they learned in the second class with the exception of eyeshadow and mascara. I ask that Glam Campers attend the last class meeting with their makeup prep, foundation, concealer, eyebrows, and contouring makeup already completed.

Class Experience

Does your teenager want to learn beauty techniques, makeup tips, and secrets of the pros? Do they comment on other girls' beauty and deserve a new-found appreciation of their own? Are they interested in being able to create an ultimate glam look on themselves for special occasions, complete with undetectable hair extensions, beautiful beach waves, and natural-looking false lashes? If any of this is true for your teenager, Glam Camp, along with the necessary beauty items on the course supply list, is the ideal beauty experience gift of a lifetime! Enrollment in this course would also be the perfect birthday or graduation present for a girl that needs a reminder of just how beautiful, talented, and competent she is.

My three-day Glam Camp course provides teen girls the opportunity to discover, highlight and enhance their natural beauty while empowering them with the skincare, grooming, makeup and hairstyling knowledge necessary to make them stand out from the crowd or just feel more comfortable in their own skin. As a successful YouTuber, I’ve learned ways to make myself look my best on camera even when I don’t feel it. I will be a patient and encouraging teacher throughout the classes as I build my students’ self-confidence and foster a sense of community and friendship within the course as we practice makeup and hairstyling together. I will show students how to do every step along the way and provide support and encouragement as students practice along with me. I will also be available to help the girls after class by answering questions they post on the discussion board. Glam Campers will be able to interact with me and peers to share their experiences and perfect their skincare, grooming, makeup, and hair looks. Students are welcome to participate in Glam Camp with their video turned off if they feel too uncomfortable or self-conscious to have it on.

The first 80 minute Glam Camp class meeting is all about implementing a healthy skincare routine, discovering grooming techniques, and creating an effortless beauty look with barely-there makeup, complete with a quick and easy hairstyle. In the second Glam Camp class, we will create a natural full makeup look perfect for those wanting to cover skin imperfections flawlessly while enhancing beauty without looking overdone. Students will then have the opportunity to test their newfound skills and recreate the natural makeup look on their own before attending the final class. In the final Glam Camp meeting, we will tweak their natural makeup look to create their own ultimate glam look. I'll teach how to use liquid eyeliner, how to properly apply natural-looking false lashes, how to apply their own hair extensions to volumize or lengthen, and how to curl beautiful beach waves in their hair.

When attending Glam Camp class meetings, students should be in a well-lit room with a mirror they can look into positioned above, directly beside, or behind their Outschool device (a large, lighted makeup mirror would be ideal) to get the most benefit out of the course. Glam Campers will also need access to specific beauty supplies in order to participate fully in the Glam Camp experience. The materials needed for each class will differ slightly depending on what look we're creating that day. The suggested supplies are detailed in the course supply list below. If you are purchasing products specifically for this course, your student should be able to independently and appropriately use the products to enhance their beauty long after the end of this course.
Learning Goals
Glam Campers will learn how to implement a beneficial skincare routine for their unique skin type, how to groom their own eyebrows, how to apply a barely-there glowing makeup look, how to create an effortless-looking hairstyle, how to apply flawless natural makeup, how to apply glam makeup, how to put in their own undetectable extensions to increase volume and hair length, and how to curl beach waves for the ultimate glam hairstyle.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Students will use a hot tool for hair that may achieve high temperatures. To protect themselves, I've included heat protecting gloves and heat protectant spray for their hair in the course supply list. I ask that all students utilize these when learning to create beachy waves in their hair with a curling wand. Families should check product ingredient labels if your child has any known allergies to ensure their safety.
Supply List
A one-page nighttime skincare routine checklist file will be provided for students to reference later. Students will need access to a well-lit room with a mirror they can look into positioned above, directly beside, or behind their Outschool device (a large, lighted makeup mirror would be ideal) to get the most benefit out of the course. I've included a link to the product I suggest, but similar products you already own are perfect!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a successful YouTuber with over 32,000 subscribers and a certified teacher with nine years of classroom teaching experience and one year of experience teaching learners online. I have experience teaching students life skills, and I've also made tutorial videos to educate others on my YouTube channel.

I began wearing natural-looking makeup when I was 13 years old to conceal skin blemishes that made me self-conscious, and I've continued wearing it ever since. I acted in plays on stage and was a member of the color guard in high school which taught me how to apply stage and performance makeup and hairstyles for myself and my friends.
