Goosebumps storytelling cards have 53 possible characters, actions, or places on them based on items from the Goosebumps books- each one a little creepy or a little spooky. Students will use up to four to create one short story in an hour, each student responsible for a part of the story. More cards can be added as necessary and as needed to further challenge students as writers.
Learning Goals
To think on the fly, to embrace possible strange items in their work or items they might not think would fit, to learn to write in community.

External Resources

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a personal connection to the Goosebumps stories. Number 16 - One Day at Horrorland is not just my favorite but it encouraged me to be a writer from a young age. Goosebumps stories have shorter chapters than other young adult novels might and are a great way to fall in love with books- even if spooky or scary isn't your thing.
