Description
Class Experience
Students will learn new things from each other by interacting every week. They will learn about different interests, countries, people, and unique experiences. We will have discussions, play games, and talk about our interests. I will also provide helpful links and resources the girls can learn from on the classroom page as needed.
My contribution as an educator comes from my insistent need to empower young people with the tools that helped me identify my exact voice: creative writing and performance. As an accomplished, and published, poet and spoken word artist, I plan to use both my honed writing voice and my extensive performance experience (as well as a diverse canon of words from other authors) to introduce students to the multi-faceted world of creative writing, performance art, and public speaking. My hope is that through these topics, students will gain a breadth of knowledge in writing, confidence, and speaking, and will be inspired to investigate their own identities and voices.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
