Girl Power! Learn About Famous Women Artists in This Summer Art History Camp!

Let's learn about famous women artists throughout history and how they contributed to the art world! This class is part lecture, part activity. It's an art history class and activity class! On the first day of the week, I will present the students with a presentation of the artist/art movement in the form of a Power Point presentation. Students will learn about the lives of many women artists as well as different types of art, art styles, art movements and art techniques!
Learners may bring any medium that they choose to create art! Examples include: acrylic paint, oil pastels, watercolors, markers, etc. There will be some lessons where I will ask in advance that the learners bring specific materials such as old magazines, scissors and glue for collage.
Some topics will be addressed during the presentation such as feminism, ageism, racism, addiction, etc. Any artwork that may contain nudity will be covered. I will also ask some weeks to bring scissors to class for collage-making.
