Class Experience

Let's celebrate women and girls being strong. We will look at different ways females can be strong from playing hockey to diving deep in the water to speaking in front of big audiences. The inspiration for our drawings will be real women from Korea, Japan, Canada, Nigeria and the USA. Students will learn a little about these real-life women and then draw an image to represent these women perform their jobs.

As this camp is for younger students, we will draw using basic shapes and letters. For English language learnes, a vocabulary list will be available to help understand instructions better and 2-3 keywords for each strong woman.

Day 1: Korea -- Ocean Divers (Haenyeo, Female Divers of Jeju Island)
Day 2: Canada -- Hockey Player (Canadian Female Hockey Team)
Day 3: USA -- Olympian/Gymnast (Simone Biles)
Day 4: Nigeria -- Writer ( Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie)
Day 5: Japan -- Archery (kyūdōka)
