Class Experience

Meet the new Girl of the Year - you! In this camp, you will get to explore five of your favourite American Girl Girl of the Year characters through fun art projects, games and activities. The focus will be on fun, creating connections with fellow campers, expressing individual creativity and increasing confidence. I am an experienced elementary school educator and American Girl fan who loves bringing out the unique gifts in each learner. This camp is welcoming of all genders. Although no books or dolls are required to participate in camp, some knowledge of American Girl Girl of the Year will help learners enhance their experience.

Day 1 - Luciana Vega (Girl of the Year in 2018)
On the first day of camp, we will explore space with Luciana! We will play space-themed games, design a star necklace just like Luciana's, mix up a batch of moon rocks, and make astronaut themed crafts.

Day 2 - Blaire Wilson (Girl of the Year in 2019)
On the second day of camp, we will spend a day on the farm with Blaire! We will complete an interactive jigsaw puzzle, make our own healthy salads and yummy cookies and design a craft vegetable garden.

Day 3 - Joss Kendrick (Girl of the Year in 2020)
On the third day of camp, we will get in touch with our surfer and cheerleader sides with Joss! We will play a cheerleading game, craft our own mini surfboard, make pom poms we can use in our own cheer routines, and design a doll.

Day 4 - Kira Bailey (Girl of the Year in 2021)
On the fourth day of camp, we will visit Australia with Kira! We will play an animal trivia game, design crafts based on koalas and kittens, and create our own nature sanctuaries.

Day 5 - Corinne Tan (Girl of the Year in 2022)
On the fifth day of camp, we will take a ski trip with Corinne! We will design a mini ski lift, test our survival skills in an escape room, design a tree card, and make our own search and rescue dog.
