Description

Class Experience

1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of the Giraffes of Africa, such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the Giraffes of Africa. 
3. Students will learn why conservation of giraffes is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species in Africa. 
4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of the giraffe in the African habitat.
No homework but your child may be interested in making more drawings or learning more facts about the topic of giraffes.

Learner Supply List: 1. Drawing Paper (loose paper, sketchpad or notebook is also fine) 2. Art media such as pencils, markers or crayons 3. Print Pack: (attached to the welcome message in the classroom and visible if you are logged in as the LEARNER) Contains two drawing or coloring templates to help students draw. Note: A certificate and a Giraffes of Africa fact sheet will be available for download in the classroom after class.
There is not a formal assessment for this class. Students will be learning concepts of animal science along with the opportunity to develop additional math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking while learning facts about Giraffes of Africa.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
