Description
Class Experience
In this camp, students will realize their full potential and learn skills to achieve it. They will gain a better understanding of perfectionism and skills to turn their perfectionism into a healthy drive instead of a stressful one. Learners will understand their self-confidence better and acquire better self-talk skills. They will understand their own asynchronous development and tools they can use to cope. They will learn the importance of having a "circle" of friends and family and what they can do to make friends and be a good friend.
I am a licensed K-12 educator, with certification in gifted education. I have 8 years of experience teaching specifically gifted and talented students. I have received training and regularly teach social and emotional skills both in the classroom setting and on a personal level.
Students will be given a challenge in each class to continuously work on throughout the week. Successes and failures will be discussed in class. (For example: To combat perfectionism, try one new thing that you're sure you won't be good at but would have fun doing.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
