1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of the Giant Manta Ray such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the Giant Manta Ray. 
3. Students will learn why conservation the Giant Manta Ray is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 
4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of the Giant Manta Ray and their ocean habitat.

There is not a formal assessment for this class. Students will be learning concepts of animal science along with the opportunity to develop additional math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking while learning about Giant Manta Rays.
