Class Experience

Who ya gonna call?!  That's a good question...where should someone start if they want to go into business for themselves?  This course is a fun approach to reviewing what it takes to successfully plan, start, market, and run your own business, using "Ghostbusters" as a model.  This is by no means comprehensive, but a primer for students that think they may want to develop specific skills that can be used to start their own business--it is also a shameless love letter to a great film. *NOTE* This is not meant to be a truly comprehensive course on actually starting a business, but rather a fun observation and analysis of what we can learn from the Ghostbusters in terms of what one should consider when attempting to do so.  Many of the steps are not dissimilar to what I do as a tutor and contract teacher—marketing to maintain interest, following certain regulations, paperwork, start up money, etc.

A notebook and pen/pencil if desired, but not required.  An electronic handout will be provided.

35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
