This flexible schedule course is a fun approach to reviewing what it takes to successfully plan, start, market, and run your own business, using "Ghostbusters" as a model. This is a primer for students that think they may want to develop specific skills that can be used to start their own business--it is also a shameless love letter to a great film. We will look at what...
*NOTE* This is not meant to be a truly comprehensive course on actually starting a business, but rather a fun observation and analysis of what we can learn from the Ghostbusters in terms of what one should consider when attempting to do so. Many of the steps are not dissimilar to what I do as a tutor and contract teacher—marketing to maintain interest, following certain regulations, paperwork, start up money, etc. Additionally, I've had students do a "start up business" project in my class for years now.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
