Getting Started With the Saxophone! Assembly, First Sound, First Notes!
In this 40 minute class I will demonstrate the proper assembly and setup of the instrument, and detail how the students should use the best technique for producing the fist sound. Students invited to try to play at the end.

Beginner Level
I will demonstrate and help students put the instrument together correctly and safely. Then, I will instruct them on how to use proper technique to create the first sound. Then, I will instruct them on how to produce the first 5-8 notes and provide images so that they can see what the first 5-8 notes look like on sheet music.
Learning Goals
1. The students will learn how to put the saxophone together safely so that they don't damage the instrument and learn proper technique so they can avoid injuries.
2. The students will learn to produce the correct sounds with the proper technique and also learn the fingerings for at least 5-8 notes that they will be able to use to play songs.
Other Details
Pre-Requisites
No experience necessary. You just need to have a working saxophone with mouthpiece, reed, and neck strap.
Supply List
The student will need to have a working saxophone. It may be an alto, tenor, soprano, or baritone saxophone. In order for it to be a fully functioning saxophone, it should also have all of the accompanying accessories such as a mouthpiece, ligature, reed, and neck strap.
