SketchUp is a free tool used to design and engineer anything you can think of and is a great step in building architectural skills for students. Many of these tools can be used to build in the Metaverse as well. This is a premier STEM skill that is a great future career in engineering, architecture, animation, and graphic design. In this very small-group course, Mr. Jamaal will introduce you to using SketchUp's free online modeling tool - SketchUp free. We're going to talk about how to get started, how to navigate, and how to start creating 3D models. We will use slides, discussion, videos, and hands-on activities to teach. We are very engaging and passionate about what we do and are happy to have your learners join us! 

During this class we will do the following:

1. Introductions and class expectations 
2. The importance and future of Virtual Modeling like the Metaverse and other spaces to build in
3. Learn basic modeling tools in the Sketch-up Application  
4. Create your own Virtual Model of a simple house 
5. Share about what you created


Please note ********Sketch Up  is a free modeling design tools used by schools, architects, and engineers all around the world. The tool will be used in this course to begin teaching the foundations of creating a model in the program. Students will have to have an account for the program before class starts. In order to follow along with this class instruction, each learner will need a mouse with left and right click functions as well as a scroll wheel for zooming in and out. A keyboard will also be required to input commands.
