Class Experience

Learners will craft and create, write, color, and draw as they explore some fun wellbeing activities.

This is a class of self-exploration and mindfulness, which aims to help young learners develop ways to regulate their own emotions. Each week will follow a different theme, from confidence, calmness, and gratitude, to how to deal with negativity and some not so good habits!

Week 1: Crafting a Memory Box
Craft and design a box to store your most precious items in. You can decorate the box in any way you would like – you just need to make sure it reflects who you are!

Week 2: Building Confidence
This class explores ways to boost your confidence whilst exploring some of the reasons why we do not always feel at our strongest.
Activity: Design a Positivity Poster for your bedroom.

Week 3: Staying Calm
This class focuses on the things we do and say that make us feel calm and secure. We will explore ways that we can help ourselves feel safe and explore why feeling angry, frustrated, or fed up is a perfectly normal emotion! We will explore some strategies for helping you to feel calm.
Activity: Make a stress ball

Week 4: Gratitude
This class helps us to focus on the positive aspects of our life and helps us to celebrate our achievements. We will consider some of the things that are important to use and reflect on how we can show our appreciation of ourselves and others.
Activity: Make a gratitude rosette

Week 5: Aspirations and Affirmations
We will explore how to continue with a positive mindset and look to set ourselves some positivity challenges to focus on over the coming month.
Activity: Paper craft - Fortune cat

Week 6: Habits
We will discuss why we sometimes do things a particular way. We will consider which habits are healthy and which are unhealthy and think about how we could reward our own changes in behavior.
Activity: Mindfulness coloring

All classes are supported by short drawing, coloring, and writing tasks or simple paper craft activities. Downloaded resources are posted in the classroom 24 hours before the start of each class. Craft supplies are needed for each session, and these are listed in the supply section below and as a downloadable list in the classroom upon enrollment. Please note, due to the nature of some of the crafting activities, class time may be extended by 5 minutes if learners need additional time.

This class is intended to be social, and learners are encouraged to keep both video and audio on during each session. If this would be an issue for your learner, please do reach out to me before booking a class.
