Take advantage of a private tutoring session to help with academic writing. Students will be encouraged to send a sample of their composition, or they may want to begin their work with the instructor's guidance. Because this course is one-on-one, I can focus on the particular areas that students are struggling with. This may be crafting a thesis, organization, flow of ideas, brainstorming and outlines, grammar, syntax, formatting, research, etc. Each course will be tailored to the areas students need help with the most, and for older students, I offer classes that cover MLA and APA formatting exclusively, as this is a big part of the college writing process.
Learning Goals
Students may improve their understanding of composition, which includes composing a strong thesis and crafting a smooth, well-organized and well-researched essay, as well as fostering a greater understanding of grammar and syntax.

If learners are writing for another class, they should provide me with their essay or topic beforehand, as well as the information about any writing books or resources they are using.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Samantha Fitch. I have my BA in English, my MA in TESOL, and my PhD in Literature. I currently teach Literature and Writing at Yavapai College. My passion is travel, and learning about other cultures. I have taught in Istanbul, in Heidelberg, and in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. I was the Director of Study Abroad at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (where I also taught Technical Writing) and was fortunate enough to lead students on a trip to Munich and Berlin. While living abroad I have been able to visit many countries, and I like to share this passion for the world with you, right from your own home! My classes usually start with a story, and then we incorporate some geography, language, food, and other cultural aspects with activities.
