I am a Licensed Zumba, Zumba Kids, and Zumba Kids jr. Instructor and have taught Zumba classes for four years. I am also a NYS certified Early Childhood and Special Education teacher with self-contained classroom experience and general education classroom experience. My self-contained experience is mainly with students with Autism, students with ADHD, and students with speech delays. I have a passion for working in inclusive settings with students who are both neurotypical and neurodiverse.
I am a certified Special and General Education teacher and I take great pride in making my classes accessible to all. Students have the option to participate to their ability level and visuals are always paired with verbal directions.
No pre-reqs! This is a perfect class for a child's first Outschool experience. For a child age 6 with moderate-strong gross motor skills (skipping, jumping, etc.) who is able to maintain focus for 40 minutes, choose "Inclusive Zumba Kids".
Zumba Kids Jr. students should have a glass or bottle of water within reach during every class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents may want to remain close by to encourage attention and help with any technology issues that might arise, especially during the first class.

If any technological issues arise during class (ex: teacher is inaudible), parents can send me a message in the chat on Zoom and I will do my best to resolve the issue.

If a family has any special needs, comments, or concerns before or after class they can feel free to send me a private message on Outschool and I will do my best to accommodate to your satisfaction within 48 hours.

This movement class is great for students who are neurotypical, neurodiverse, have Autism, ADHD, speech impairments, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and many other disability classifications.

Families, often new students (to Zumba or online classes) will take a few sessions to simply sit and observe. Depending on the child this may last for 1 session or 10 sessions until the student feels comfortable and confident enough to participate. I try to allow students to take their time to warm up and quietly encourage them when they begin to engage more in class.
