In this interactive one-time course, learners will participate in an executive functioning skills building training approach designed to help with completing tasks from start to finish. Learners will learn why it is important to start and complete tasks; and understand the impact or consequences of not completing non-preferred tasks in school and/or at home. The goal of this course is to provide a positive and supportive environment to review and discuss strategies to help learners overcome challenges related to task initiation and task completion. At the end of this course, learners will be able to: -Define task initiation and explain why task initiation is important in school and at home. -Identify the four basic components of starting a new task. -Describe and apply various strategies to help improve task initiation and task completion. Learners will have the opportunity to explore these topics through mini-lectures, interactive games, discussions, and/or video clips.

I am completing coursework and clinical hours towards becoming a behavior analyst with a focus on applying the principles of applied behavior analysis in the classroom/education settings through functional skills training.
