This is a class where children learn vocabulary words, manipulate words to make sentences, learn definitions, and use different strategies to understand word concepts.

Intermediate Level
This class meets two times a week and is a 15 minute class for students who have mastered reading independently. In this class, we will be focusing on vocabulary and definitions. Approximately five minutes, at the beginning of the class, will be devoted to warm up exercises that include topics that interests the student. Approximately 8 minutes will be devoted to discovering root words definitions and spellings. I will use flash cards, OutSchool Share Screen, Google Slides, and at times, OutSchool Whiteboard. There will be times we when focus on words searches.
Learning Goals
Students will learn new vocabulary words and definitions of those words.
Some examples of the words are:
attitude
benevolent
capable
description
expectations
feasible
gracious
heightened
ignite
juxtapose
etc.

Parental Guidance
We will be using OutSchool Share Screen to access Google Slides. We at times, may also utilize OutSchool Whiteboard. Google Slides will be used to reinforce letter sounds, words, numbers and sentences. There will not be a need for students to have an account to Google or Google Slides.
