US Grade 1 - 2
This course aims to prepare students for 1st grade math concepts, allowing students to preview concepts introduced in 1st grade math or prevent "summer slide" as they prepare for 2nd grade math. Structurally, we will have two live meetings per week, each 35 minutes. The first half of class will typically be spent with concept exploration discussion using a sample problem or idea generating photo or task. The second half of the class will cover application of concepts through grade level math problems related to the class content. After class the student will be assigned an assessment/practice to help guide the next lesson.
Learning Goals
By the end course, we will have previewed most of the skills to prepare for 1st grade math. Based on the results, I will be able to offer a personalized study plan focused on any remaining points of growth.
