Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner Level
This course is a great fit for learners who want to continue their German journey in a fun, immersive way while practicing speaking, listening, and comprehension skills!

What will be taught?
Learners will explore real-life German conversations, cultural traditions, travel-related vocabulary, food and restaurant dialogues, past-tense storytelling, and interactive games that make learning enjoyable. Each week focuses on a specific theme, gradually building fluency and confidence in speaking and comprehension.

How is the class structured?
Each 45-minute session follows a structured format that includes:
A warm-up conversation and review of previous lessons.
Introduction of new vocabulary and grammar in an engaging, interactive way.
Role-playing activities, games, and group discussions to practice real-life scenarios.
A closing reflection and Q&A to reinforce learning.

How will we teach?
Our teaching style is highly interactive and student-centered. We incorporate fun role-playing exercises, storytelling, visual aids, and collaborative activities to keep students engaged. Learners will interact with us and each other throughout the class, practicing dialogues and participating in engaging activities.

Is prior knowledge required?
Yes, students should have some prior experience with German, ideally having completed a German 1 course, e.g. German for Friends, or equivalent. Basic knowledge of greetings, numbers, colors, and simple sentence structures will help them fully engage with the course material.

How will late enrollees catch up?
Learners who join after the course has started can book our self-paced course German for Beginners Course to help them catch up. We will also offer short review sessions at the beginning of each class to ensure that all learners feel comfortable and included.

Learning Goals

Students will develop the confidence to engage in real-life conversations using essential German vocabulary and phrases related to everyday interactions, travel, and dining.
Students will strengthen their grammar skills by practicing sentence structures, verb conjugations, and past-tense storytelling to improve both speaking and writing abilities.
