In this 8-week course we will be having fun with writing! We'll learn how to write a great sentence. We'll take our fabulous sentences and build a paragraph. And then we will learn what it takes to write a detailed answer to any question!

We will be learning about sentence structure and how to write great sentences full of details. We will then transition to writing great paragraphs, learning about introduction and concluding sentences. Throughout the time we will focus on 2 types of writing, personal narrative and opinion. We will also spend some time on writing a detailed multi-paragraph essay response to a question about a passage that is read. This is a very important skill starting in 3rd grade!

Students will learn good sentence structure. They will learn how to elaborate on short sentences to add details and/or combine sentences using conjunctionsStudents will learn how to write a personal narrative. We will work on how to use dialogue and writing with a beginning, middle and end in mind

Sentence Writing
We will learn how to write a complete sentence. We will then work on combining two sentences into a complex sentence 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Personal Narrative Writing
We will discuss what a personal narrative essay requires. Students will write a personal narrative about an event that happened this summer 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Paragraph Writing
Students will learn about a topic sentence and how to write one. They will then practice writing a concluding sentence 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Personal Narrative Writing
Students will revise and type their final draft for the personal narrative. We will have time to share with the class 45 mins online live lesson
