Beginner Level
This interactive session empowers learners to explore their creative side using the user-friendly platform, Canva. Learners will be introduced to the core features of Canva. They'll learn how to navigate the interface, explore design elements like images, text, and shapes, and discover how to personalize their designs with editing tools. At the end of this course, learners will be able to: -Identify key features and functionalities of Canva's interface. -Understand the different design elements available in Canva (images, text, etc.). -Explain design principles like composition and text layout. -Apply basic design principles to create content for social media, school projects, etc. Learners will have the opportunity to explore these topics through mini-lectures, interactive activities, discussions, and/or video clips. Learners will practice creating visually balanced and impactful graphics using composition and text layout techniques. Through interactive exercises, learners will gain valuable skills in searching for high-quality images and graphics within Canva's library. We'll explore basic design principles like composition and text layout, helping them create visually balanced and impactful graphics for social media, school projects, and more! By the end of the workshop, teens will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently use Canva for various creative endeavors, allowing them to express themselves visually and bring their ideas to life!

Parental Guidance
In order to use Canva, a FREE email personal account will be required to create their account. If a learner is not old enough to create their own email account, a parent Canva account is acceptable for learners who are not able to open up an email account to create their own Canva account. None of the paid Canva features are required for this class, and the free Canva account will suffice. Young learners will need to know how to access their/your personal Canva account prior to the start of class.

I create social media engagement flyers, marketing/event flyers, etc. I primarily use graphic design web applications like Canva and Adobe Spark to create digital content. However, I have experience using other methods such as Powerpoint, Word, and the likes to create digital content.
