During this class students will have a brief introduction to the artist, Frida Kahol. We will draw and color one of her most famous paintings “Self Portrait.” Your child will be astonished by the bright and bold colors that Frida Kahol used to make her grand and radical portraits, but also the sense of commitment she had to the people of her native country, Mexico! They will discover that they too can create a beautiful portrait and follow in the footsteps of this “Female Mexican artist!” It is my hope that I can instill a love for drawing as well as a sense of confidence in your young learner! Optional Interactive activities: 1. Submit a picture of your completed drawing for teacher and student comment. 2. Create a painting that expresses your national family heritage, take a picture of your painting, and upload it to the classroom for teacher Comment.
