German Storytime 'Eine Woche voller Samstage' in German
In this 4-week course students will listen to the book 'Eine Woche voller Samstage' (A week full of Saturdays) by Paul Maar read by a native German speaker. Discussions are in German, so students need to be fluent in german (for their age).

Description
Class Experience
In this Storytime I will be reading 2 chapters of the book 'Eine Woche voller Samstage' (A week full of Saturdays or Sams-days) by Paul Maar every session. We will discuss words and content in German. This class is only for students that are fluent (for their age) in the German language. I will not translate the story into English. This said, if questions about the meaning of a word arise, we might translate single words to make sure that it's understood. There some pictures in the book...
- listen to the story in German read by a native speaker - are immersed in the German language - ask questions when they don't understand words or the meaning of a paragraph - get comfortable speaking the german language in a safe and non-judgmental environment - discuss the content of the story - will be seen and heard when questions arise - will develop stronger language skills - will have fun sharing their thoughts and ideas - will make friends in a class that spikes their same interests
Annika is a German native speaker. She grew up in Germany and now lives with her husband and two sons in California.
The students only need an extra device to play the Kahoot quiz on in the last session. Some kids like to color, draw or paint or even build Legos while listening to the story. That's totally ok with me, if this helps their attention.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In the last lesson of this class, the students might play a quiz on kahoot.it You can also download the app, but that's not necessary. Kahoot is a quiz platform which is easily accessibly for teachers and students. Students don't need an account. They will only be asked for a game pin which I will provide and they put in a nick name that they want to use.
