In this class the students will listen to the book 'Der kleine Drache Kokonuss bei den Römern' (The little dragon Coconut with the Romans) by Ingo Siegner. The class is only for students that are fluent in German. I will read 2-3 stories in one session. We will take breaks if students don't understand the meaning of certain words. I will also encourage discussion about certain events that could happen and imagining how the story could go on and such. Sometimes we also talk about if we have experienced similar things as Kokosnuss and his friends. At the end of the 3rd session we will play a Kahoot quiz that I create about the whole book. The students love to be challenged by these questions and see who has listened best and remembered the most. This is book 27 in the Kokosnuss series by Ingo Siegner, but every book stands on his own as one special adventure that Kokosnuss, Oscar and Matilda experience. They are creative creatures and usually always solve a problem. In this book the friends meet a slave in the hills in Italy. Turns out that he ran away to avoid being taken into the colosseum for gladiator fights. But accidentally they all are captured and taken to fight against to strongest gladiator of them all 'Maximus Doppelplus'. Of course Kokosnuss has a plan how to get out of the situation, but when this fails a lucky event happens. Maximus hurts his back and the slave who knows a lot about back pain help him get better... While I read the stories they I will show the students the pictures in the book as a powerpoint presentation. They are always free to ask questions and are encouraged to do. Week 1: Oskar Brutus Drachus (Oscar Brutus Dragonus), Der Sklave Cinquecento (The slave Cinquecento), Eine böse Überraschung (A bad surprise) Week 2: Rekrutius Rektus (Rekrutius Rektus), Rom (Rome), Maximus Doppelplus (Maximus Doubleplus) Week 3: Die Wendung (The turn), Der römische Kaiser (The roman emperor), Zurück auf der Dracheninsel (Back on dragon island), Kahoot Quiz
