Description
Class Experience
Over the course of three days, students will learn written and verbal greetings and introductions. On day one, they willl learn basic sentence structure for statements and questions, including personal prounouns for I, you, he, she , it, we, they and the formal you. The will learn basic verbs used in introductions. They will learn how to give basic personal information, like their name and age, and be given a chance to introduce themselves in German to both the class and the teacher...
Students will learn to greet and introduce themselves in German. They will learn some basic geography of Germany and cultural regions in Germany. They will learn how to write a basic letter.
I am certified at the B2 level on the European Frame of Reference for languages. I spent several years in Germany, have a degree in German Studies, and have taught high school German 1 and 2, as well as numerous after-school program German Clubs.
there will be no homework, though students are encouraged to practice their new skills.
students need paper and pencils, as well as headphones and microphone.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
informal assessments of student pronuncitation will be made, as well as their comprehension. They will each get a chance to ask and answer basic questions in German.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
