Homework
1 hour per week. The learners will receive additional learning materials such as PDFs, online quizzes or creative tasks to work on as asynchronous work. It is not mandatory to do the work, but regular revision of vocabulary in particular will help to have the best learning outcome when studying languages.

Are you ready to embark on a linguistic adventure? This class is the perfect opportunity for beginners to dive into the German language and culture while having fun!  

Why this class?
This interactive 20-week journey is for learners who dream of speaking German confidently. From greeting people with “Guten Tag!” to presenting their own little projects, we’ll focus on conversation-driven learning in a relaxed and immersive environment.  

Our weekly 45-minute live sessions emphasize both confidence and creativity. You’ll build strong communication skills while having fun with interactive activities. Oh, and did we mention the practice materials are designed to make language learning your new favorite hobby?  

What Skills Will You Build?
In every class, we’ll combine:  
🎧 Listening: Short, sharp audio exercises for quick comprehension.
🗣️ Speaking: Words, phrases, and everyday conversations to bring German to life.
📖 Reading: Exploring texts, comics, and stories that capture your imagination.
✍️ Writing: From crafting sentences to expressing your thoughts in German.

We’ll focus on learners' interactions through activities like games, skits, role-playing, and even cultural exploration.


Each week offers a unique theme—we’ll delve into topics like:  
Greetings & Colors | Food & Hobbies | Shopping | Birthdays & Celebrations  
And more! Closer to Christmas, we’ll even dive into festive crafts and songs to enrich your cultural learning.

Unit 1: Guten Tag!
Lesson 1:
Greetings, alphabet, pronunciation, how to introduce yourself
 We kick things off with a warm “Guten Tag!” as we learn greetings, the German alphabet, and pronunciation basics. By the end of this class, you’ll be confidently introducing yourself in German!

Lesson 2:
Numbers, basic colours, talking about the weather
 Time to solidify the foundation with a fun revision of Week 1 and dive into numbers, basic colors, and how to chat about the weather. Perfect for those “Wie ist das Wetter?” moments!

Unit 2: Family and friends
Lesson 3:
Talking about family and friends
 Practice makes perfect! We’ll review previous lessons and start talking about family and friends. Get ready to share stories about your loved ones in German!

Food and Beverages (preferences)
 Who doesn’t love food? This week, we’ll revise and discuss preferences for food and beverages while learning essential vocabulary that will make dining out in Germany a breeze.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
In this class, we will occasionally use Nearpod and Kahoot Quizzes through a link that the teacher shares with the learner. The learner will not need to sign in. In addition, we might use a Google document for written assignments and vocabulary. Occasionally, the teacher will share educational, appropriate youtube videos to provide additional material.
Supply List
Learners might need a pen and some paper to take notes or draw during class, and they can also use any other digital note-taking app.
