Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their knowledge of both German history and German geography.
As part of my MA in German Literature and Linguistics, I spent time studying in Germany. I have been to each of the cities explored in this class and have studied their histories as it relates to the development of the German language and culture.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class will be like a virtual field trip through each city, with maps and photos of old buildings. The history covered is mainly about when the cities were built and who lived there. Important figures will be mentioned, but no in-depth history of wars or religion. Only how each city represents an aspect of Germany and its cultural heritage.
