Frohe Weihnachten! This class will be taught in English, but we will learn German words relevant to the material. In this class, we will talk about one of the most prominent German Christmas figures, Krampus, St. Nicholas's horned half-goat companion! We will learn words and see pictures over a PowerPoint, but we will also watch video clips through YouTube. We will talk about: The history of Krampus: What his purpose is, how long he has been in existence, how he works with St. Nicholas St. Nicholas Day in Germany: What the day is and how Krampusnacht relates to the day Krampuslauf: We will talk about the run, as well as watching videos of some To carry on the traditions, when I post the PowerPoint, I will also post the YouTube videos that we watch Students do not need any prior knowledge of German Christmas traditions or of the German language to attend this class. It is merely for fun and to learn about another culture.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the German Christmas figure, Krampus, including what he does and how he fits into the Christmas story.

Parental Guidance
While we will not be seeing any violence, Krampus is half-goat and half-demon, so he may be considered scary to younger students. Please be advised, if your child scares easily, this class may not be suitable. I do have a Christmas Market class as an alternative for students.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Marlena. Welcome to my page!
I teach classes here about basic anatomy and radiology. I hope to widen student's knowledge about the body and potentially inspire some to seek a career in the medical field.
I began my own journey in healthcare three years ago as a schedule for medical imaging. One year ago, I received my license as an X-ray technologist, and I absolutely love my job.
My favorite thing about tutoring online is that I am able to reach such a far range of students. I have had the privilege of teaching students from across the United States, Puerto Rico, England, Malta, and Germany. It has been wonderful teaching all of my students. In the past on Outschool, I taught basic German language courses.
When I am not immersed in X-rays, I enjoy reading, learning languages, and cooking.
