Class Experience

Head, shoulders, knees and toes! Students will learn 13 body parts in German. We will focus on 8 body parts while singing the popular song “Head, shoulders, knees and toes”. During this live interactive class we will use movements while singing and pointing to each body part. We will draw the body and write target words on paper in German. I will often “test” learners memory and retention throughout this lesson.
Body parts will include German words for “Head, shoulders, knees, toes, eyes, ears, mouth and nose”.

I enjoyed four years of German in school. I later would go on to spend time in Germany speaking to natives. I was originally interested in the German language because of my heritage and also because of the similarities between the English and German languages.
