This class is taught in German.
I am a certified teacher with a Master's degree and a Native Speaker of German with no accent. For more than 15 years I have taught in Germany, France, UK, and Canada.
Learners may need paper and pencil to draw and/or take notes. They will also receive flash cards with the new vocabulary that can be printed out each week. For the Winter Craft, you may need paper, crayons, and scissors. Please do not leave your child unattended when crafting with scissors. We will talk about baking cookies and the different steps involved in baking. However, we will not actually bake cookies together.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
PLEASE NOTE: There will also be a video on Christmas and Advent traditions excluding extensive religious reference. I will mainly focus on traditions such as cookie baking and decorating the tree as well as when presents will arrive in Germany, delivered by Santa Claus. I will mostly speak German in the videos, but I will speak English for giving instructions and feedback. Young learners may need parental help to access the Outschool classroom, the youtube videos, or to download the materials. Learners might make their own videos and drawings to present themselves that need to be uploaded into the classroom. You may also use a computer program such as Word, Google Document, or Canva to make a PDF to upload. This is up to the family's preferences. Parents should be aware that we will be using youtube videos in this class to watch the tutorial. Learners might also use Kahoot! for an interactive quiz challenge. Instructions will be given in the classroom.
