Hallo und Guten Tag! Komm mit! Come and join me on this immersive German Fall Course! In this self-paced German Immersion class for beginners, we will learn simple sentences and fun activities around the topic "Fall" (Herbst) in German. I will mostly speak German in the videos, but I will speak English for giving instructions and feedback. This German for Beginners Kindergarten is a self-paced class, so there won’t be any LIVE meetings with the teacher. I will be available to answer your questions and give feedback on Fridays. In each lesson, we will cover the four skills - listening, - speaking, - reading, - writing. We will - listen to short audio texts, - build up new vocabulary, - prepare short everyday conversations in German, - practice pronunciation and vocabulary, - explore authentic situations and activities and train natural, spontaneous interaction. My video tutorial and all related materials for each lesson will be posted for you. Learners will be encouraged to share their completed mini-project of each week by uploading a video, a picture, or a PDF to our Outschool classroom. They also participate in polls and games. T In this self-paced class, learners will learn basic German expressions through play, song, and nursery rhymes. We will cover some of the following topics in the German beginner lessons: Week 1: - Fall: Weather, Colours Activity: Colouring Week 2: - Fall Song Show and Tell Week 3: - Fall Activities Poll Week 4: - Fall Craft and Song (Lantern) Share your craft and give feedback Your child is not required to know any German, this is a beginners' class. Born and raised in Germany, I am a Native Speaker of the German language with no accent. I have taught Kindergarten (Maternelle) in Canada, and I homeschooled my own Kindergarten son in German and French. Parental Guidance
I will mostly speak German in the videos, but I will speak English for giving instructions and feedback.
Young learners may need parental help to access the Outschool classroom, the youtube videos, or to download the materials.
Learners will make their own videos and drawings to present themselves that need to be uploaded into the classroom. You may also use a computer program such as Word, Google Document, or Canva to make a PDF to upload. This is up to the family's preferences.
Parents should be aware that we will be using youtube videos in this class to watch the tutorial. Learners might also use Kahoot! for an interactive quiz challenge. Instructions will be given in the classroom.
For the lantern, you will need an empty plastic water bottle, glue, scissors, and crayons. Please do not leave your child unattended when they craft the lantern and help them with the scissors to prevent injuries.
Supply List
Learners may need paper and pencil to draw and/or take notes. For the fall class, they might want to use different colours. They will also receive flash cards with the new vocabulary that can be printed out each week. For the lantern, you will need an empty plastic water bottle, glue, scissors, an LED tea light and crayons. Please do not leave your child unattended when they craft the lantern and help them with the scissors to prevent injuries.
