In this ongoing weekly Geometry class, you will develop reasoning and problem solving skills as you study congruence and similarity, and apply properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. You will also develop problem solving skills by using length, perimeter, area, circumference, surface area, and volume to solve real-world problems. In each weekly class, we will study a new Geometry topic. You can choose the day of the week that is most convenient for you. This class is...
Students will both review and learn key Geometry concepts of lines and triangles.
I have been teaching geometry and algebra through OutSchool since 2020. For 8 years, I taught geometric and algebraic equations to pre-engineering students. With my background in personal development and educational leadership, I will try to motivate students and encourage them to appreciate the application of geometry in real world situations.
Students will be practice problems to help reinforce learning taught in class each week.
Each student should have paper, a pencil and a basic calculator during the class. Graphing paper is helpful but not required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I will be using concepts and mathematical equations from, Holt McDougal, "Larson Geometry", 2012.
