Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to define and calculate area and perimeter.
I am a National Board Certified elementary school teacher, and I have taught math every year of my 28-year career. I have been thoroughly trained in the Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) approach to mathematics. It's very important to me that my students make sense of their mathematics, develop strong conceptual understanding, build a solid foundation of skills, enjoy their math, gain confidence, and find the subject interesting, engaging, and meaningful.
1) ruler or straightedge and 2) graph paper (which I will provide in a pdf if the student needs it)
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
