US Grade 9 - 12
⭐ If you miss the class, you can access all lecture recordings from the classroom page within 2-3 hours, so you can always watch the recorded videos. ⭐ If you book the class and decide two weeks ⭐before⭐ the class starts that the time does not work for you, please reach out for a refund. This class is normally taken after High School Algebra 1. Students can choose to come to class, listen, participate and they will learn. ⭐⭐ The very best way to learn will be to practice the concepts.⭐⭐ This year I am piloting online practice with DeltaMath. Paper assignments will be available for those that would rather have that. When you sign up, you will be given a DeltaMath account that you can choose to practice with. I have found that everyone learns in different ways and sometimes we need a mixture of Desmos, DeltaMath and paper assignments to really learn and enjoy the content. Assessments will be given at minimum once a unit. If you would like a grade, I am happy to give it to along with a report card. If you would rather a Pass/Fail class, please let me know and I will let you know the individualized criteria. I will also look for informal and individualized ways to assess knowledge. In our Trigonometry unit in Semester 2, students will need a scientific calculator. I am a big fan of the TI-84 CE graphing calcululator but that is probably more than you need for this class. A TI 30iiXS or equivalent scientific calculator would be just fine. If you need help outside of the classroom, I'm happy to answer questions via message, video or if I have time after class I can stay a little longer. Curriculum can be printed out. If you are a textbook lover, I am happy to give you the names of some of my favorites and you can use those to help understand the material. I also have an open source Textbook that the author has given me permission to share in class. I will share that as a resource. I enjoy teaching this class and really hope that you as a student will enjoy learning different concepts, or at the very least have a better understanding of some of the concepts. Please refer to the syllabus for the progression of topics.

Supply List
Curriculum will be provided from the instructor. Please either plan on printing out the notes or have programs that can edit PDFs available to your student (such as Kami). This course isn't calculator heavy and students can use online calculators. They should have access to a calculation device.
