This is a fun game style class. Each week we will touch on a different topic/area of Geometry either through a hands-on activity or a game. The topics covered will always be introduced/reviewed before students are expected to interact with them. In some cases concepts will be explained along the way to make more sense. Students will have fun with math concepts and find real world applications for otherwise abstract concepts. Some specific content we cover: * Students learn to identify shapes based on attributes * Students learn to categorize quadrilaterals and triangles * Students develop fluency with the basic language of Geometry * Students get a basic understanding of the Cartesian Grid (Coordinate Plane) * Students learn to read points on the plane * Students learn to graph points on the plane * Students learn to graph objects with specific attributes on the plane * Students develop an interest in learning more about Geometry
Homework Offered
This is a game/project style class, so homework is never assigned. However, I might offer a challenge occasionally, depending on class involvement and interest. These will always be 100% optional.Assessments Offered
