In this ongoing class (2nd & 4th Wed), mathematicians will explore Geometry topics using real-world problems, hands-on activities, and mathematical modeling. Labs are enrichment and may complement any Geometry class. Prerequisite: Algebra I

Ongoing every 2nd & 4th Wednesday, Geometry Lab Explorations are designed to complement any traditional Geometry course or to be an addition to Problem Solving for Mathematicians classes. Prerequisite to the Geometry Labs is Algebra I skills. Each lab will be a self contained activity to explore Geometry content such as area and volume, properties of shapes, properties of triangles, similarities and congruence, and properties of angles. Students will be able to explore Geometry topics for deeper mathematical understanding.

Students should read the provided lab overview prior to each lab session.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Please see the provided lab overview for any specific supplies needed each class. Generally, labs will use common materials found around the home, and if there is a specialized item a simpler alternative will be suggested. Geometry Students should have a geometry compass, ruler, and protractor available along with at minimum a scientific calculator and graph paper for their lab work.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
