Homework
1 hour per week. Light homework will be offered after each class to solidify the understanding of the concept learned. At the beginning of next class we will check homework answers. All assignments will be expected for all students.Class Experience
In this class we will explore Geometry topics including Proofs, Similarity, Congruence, Circles, etc. In each class we will start with introducing a new concept. Then we will use examples and visual signals to help learners understand the concepts. It is especially important for Geometry learners to use visual learning. There will be discussions in every class about class topics. Objectives for this geometry class include: Applying the protractor postulate and angle addition postulate to calculate angle measures. Constructing parallel and perpendicular lines. Determining unknown measures of congruent figures. Solving real-world problems involving special right triangles. Applying properties of parallelograms to solve problems. Determining the radian measure of a central angle. Calculating probabilities using the addition rule. Here is a weekly breakdown of the topics covered in class each week: Week 1: Proof and rigid motion Week 2: Congruence and similarity Week 3: Right Triangles and Trigonometry 1 Week 4: Right Triangles and Trigonometry 2 Week 5: Polygons Week 6: 3-D measurements Week 7: Circles part 1 Week 8: Circles part 2 Week 9: Circles part 3 Week 10: Coordinate Geometry Learners in this class will need to have completed a full year of 8th grade math/Pre-Algebra as a prerequisite to this course. Algebra 1 is also recommended.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am Dr. Wang! I have a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from a top school in the United States. I have 10+ years of experience teaching classes to college students and high school students. I enjoy teaching STEM subjects to students of all ages. I especially focus on two subjects: Math and Physics. Class topics range from AP Physics C and Calculus BC to Honor Physics and Algebra. I teach with a lot of visual cues and graphing examples because I think those are always extremely helpful for students to understand different concepts. I am a super soccer fan. Nice to meet you all!
