In this 4 week class, students will learn about America's most famous National Parks. Topics about each park that will be discussed include a brief history of the park, the Geography of the park, and any special Geology of the parks. We will cover 2 parks each week and will spend our time discovering the park for that class in detail, and diving into the the geographic and geological features of the park and what makes the park unique. This class will be taught from the idea of taking a semi-virtual tour of the various parks and their key features. Additionally, student will answer questions, engage in discussions, and interact with the teacher and the other students. This will be accomplished by using weekly questions for students to answers, as well as assignments that will require the students to interact by using the Outschool classroom and submit the assignments there as well. This will be accomplished by using weekly questions, maps for labeling features of the parks, writing assignments about their favorite features of the park, and other games, which will be participated in and submitted through the Outschool classroom. The class adhere to the following weekly schedule: Week 1: North Cascades & Mammoth Cave National Park Week 2: Theodore Roosevelt & Badlands National Park Week 3: Wrangler- St. Elias National Park & Gates of the Artic National Park Week 4: American Samoa & Black Canyon of the Gunnison River National Park

I have my BA in Social Studies Education, and 3 years teaching social studies classes at various middle school & high school levels. Additionally, I have a huge passion for Ancient History, Archaeology, and Exploration which helps me fuel my drive to pass on knowledge and an appreciation of these topics to students. Additionally, I have over a decade of experience hiking, mountaineering and rock climbing, exploring the back-country of some of the most amazing places in America.
